Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDDEE FGHGIIJJ KLMLBBNN OIMIPPQQ

A BABY is the best to loveA
She always smiles when you draw nearB
Though ugly you may be of faceC
No handsomer may interfereB
And win her heart away from youD
Despite your faults she's always trueD
And though you be unknown to fameE
A baby's love remains the sameE
-
A baby's eyes are always brightF
A baby's lips are always redG
And O a baby's voice is sweetH
Though not a word she's ever saidG
A baby loves you for yourselfI
She's not entranced by sordid pelfI
Though other loves may leave a smartJ
A baby never breaks your heartJ
-
It matters not though you be poorK
And friendless in the outside worldL
The moment that you cross the doorM
That baby in your arms is curledL
Though all the world may jibe and jeerB
A baby smiles when you draw nearB
Through joy or sorrow weal or woeN
With you a babe is glad to goN
-
Ah lucky man indeed is heO
Who has a babe at home to loveI
All that men now are striving forM
He owns a treasure far aboveI
Though fate may rob him of his goldP
And bare him in the winter's coldP
And drag him down to deep despairQ
His baby still will count him fairQ
