There stands a man in great miseryA
Hit by pain sorrow and penuryA
Solace he took in the bottleB

And snoozed in great oblivionC
In dreamland he landedD
Rejoicing and excitedD

But long did the merry not stayE
For there came the good swimmerF
Staring at the soaker s face next dayE
-
It then dawned on the winoG
That sorrow and miseryA
Do not drown in the bottleB
