The Flower In My Garden Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCBB DEFGHI

I tilled a garden once upon a timeA
In this garden of mineB
Was a budding flowerC
Which needed the smooth caresses of waterC
And the bitter kisses of sunshineB
To grow fineB
-
The biting touches of the shearD
Rid it of insects and unholy pestsE
Soon it became a blossoming beautyF
Feeding the garden with sweet fragranceG
But this fair flower from the earthH
Was soon kissed by the lips of deathI
