Values Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFF

Did you deceive me Did I trustA
A heart of fire to a heart of dustA
What matter Since once the world was fairB
And you gave me the rose of the world to wearB
-
That was the time to live for FlowersC
Sunshine and starshine and magic hoursC
Summer about me Heaven aboveD
And all seemed immortal even LoveD
-
Well the mortal rose of your love was worthE
The pains of death and the pains of birthE
And the thorns may be sharper than death who knowsF
That crowd round the stem of a deathless roseF
