The Vault'after Sedgmoor Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDED FGFHIJIJ DCDCKBKB LCLCMNMN OPOPPOPO

You need not call at the InnA
I have ordered my bedB
Fair linen sheets thereinA
And a tester of leadB
No musty fusty scentsC
Such as inn chambers keepD
But tapestried with contentE
And hung with sleepD
-
My Inn door bears no barF
Set up against fearG
The guests have journeyed farF
They are glad to be hereH
Where the damp arch curves up greyI
Long long shall we lieJ
Good King's men all are theyI
A King's man IJ
-
Old Giles in his stone asleepD
Fought at PoictiersC
Piers Ralph and Roger keepD
The spoil of their fighting yearsC
I shall lie with my folk at lastK
In a quiet bedB
I shall dream of the sword held fastK
In a round capped headB
-
Good tale of men all toldL
My Inn affordsC
And their hands peace shall holdL
That once held swordsC
And we who rode and ranM
On many a loyal questN
Shall find the goal of manM
A bed and restN
-
We shall not stand to the toastO
Of Love or KingP
We be all too tired to boastO
About anythingP
We be dumb that did jest and singP
We rest who laboured and warredO
Shout once shout once for the KingP
Shout once for the swordO
