Chloe Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD AEAE

Night wind sighing through the poplar leavesA
Trembling of the aspen shivering of the willowB
Every leafy voice of all the night time grievesA
Mourning weeping over Chloe's pillowB
-
Chloe fresher than the breeze of dawnC
Fairer than the larches in their young spring gloryD
Brighter than the glow worms on the dewy lawnC
Hear the dirge the green trees sing to end your storyD
-
Chloe lived and Chloe loved she brought new gladnessA
Hope and life and all things good to all who met herE
Only dying wept to know the lifelong sadnessA
Willed against her will to those who can't forget herE
