Before Winter Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFGFHAIA

The wind is crying in the nightA
Like a lost childB
The waves break wonderful and whiteA
And wildB
The drenched sea poppies swoon alongC
The drenched sea wallD
And there's an end of summer and of songC
An end of allD
-
The fingers of the tortured boughsE
Gripped by the blastF
Clutch at the windows of your houseG
Closed fastF
And the lost child of love despairH
Cries in the nightA
Remembering how once those windows wereI
Open and brightA
