A Farewell Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDA EFGGFE HIJJIH

Good bye good bye it is not hard to partA
You have my heart the heart that leaps to hearB
Your name called by an echo in a dreamC
You have my soul that like an untroubled streamC
Reflects your soul that leans so dear so nearD
Your heartbeats set the rhythm for my heartA
-
What more could Life give if we gave her leaveE
To give and Life should give us leave to takeF
Only each other's arms each other's eyesG
Each other's lips the clinging secreciesG
That are but as the written words to makeF
Records of what the heart and soul achieveE
-
This only this we yield my love my friendH
To Fate's implacable eyes and withering breathI
We still are yours and mine though by Time's theftJ
My arms are empty and your arms bereftJ
It is not hard to part not harder than DeathI
And each of us must face Death in the endH
