To Others Than You Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDBEEFGHIJKLKMC NOPQ

Friend by enemy I call you outA
You with a bad coin in your socketB
You my friend there with a winning airC
Who palmed the lie on me when you lookedD
Brassily at my shyest secretB
Enticed with twinkling bits of the eyeE
Till the sweet tooth of my love bit dryE
Rasped at last and I stumbled and suckedF
Whom now I conjure to stand as thiefG
In the memory worked by mirrorsH
With unforgettably smiling actI
Quickness of hand in the velvet gloveJ
And my whole heart under your hammerK
Were once such a creature so gay and frankL
A desireless familiarK
I never thought to utter or thinkM
While you displaced a truth in the airC
-
That though I loved them for their faultsN
As much as for their goodO
My friends were enemies on stiltsP
With their heads in a cunning cloudQ
