-
Half of the fellow father as he doublesB
His sea sucked Adam in the hollow hulkC
Half of the fellow mother as she dabblesB
To morrow's diver in her horny milkD
Bisected shadows on the thunder's boneE
Bolt for the salt unbornF
-
The fellow half was frozen as it bubbledG
Corrosive spring out of the iceberg's cropH
The fellow seed and shadow as it babbledG
The swing of milk was tufted in the papI
For half of love was planted in the lostJ
And the unplanted ghostK
-
The broken halves are fellowed in a crippleL
The crutch that marrow taps upon their sleepM
Limp in the street of sea among the rabbleL
Of tide tongued heads and bladders in the deepM
And stake the sleepers in the savage graveN
That the vampire laughO
-
The patchwork halves were cloven as they scuddedK
The wild pigs' wood and slime upon the treesP
Sucking the dark kissed on the cyanideK
And loosed the braiding adders from their hairsQ
Rotating halves are horning as they drillR
The arterial angelL
-
What colour is glory death's feather trembleL
The halves that pierce the pin's point in the airS
And prick the thumb stained heaven through the thimbleL
The ghost is dumb that stammered in the strawT
The ghost that hatched his havoc as he flewU
Blinds their cloud tracking eyeA

My world is pyramid The padded mummerT
Weeps on the desert ochre and the saltK
Incising summerT
My Egypt's armour buckling in its sheetK
I scrape through resin to a starry boneE
And a blood parhelionE
-
My world is cypress and an English valleyV
I piece my flesh that rattled on the yardsW
Red in an Austrian volleyV
I hear through dead men's drums the riddled ladsX
Screwing their bowels from a hill of bonesY
Cry Eloi to the gunsZ
-
My grave is watered by the crossing JordanE
The Arctic scut and basin of the SouthA2
Drip on my dead house gardenE
Who seek me landward marking in my mouthA2
The straws of Asia lose me as I turnE
Through the Atlantic cornE
-
The fellow halves that cloven as they swivelL
On casting tides are tangled in the shellsB2
Bearding the unborn devilL
Bleed from my burning fork and smell my heelsC2
The tongue's of heaven gossip as I glideK
Binding my angel's hoodK
-
Who blows death's feather What glory is colourT
I blow the stammel feather in the veinE
The loin is glory in a working pallorT
My clay unsuckled and my salt unbornE
The secret child I sift about the seaV
Dry in the half tracked thighA
