It Is The Sinners' Dust-tongued Bell Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCADC EFCGFC HIJKLM FNOFNP QRSTUV

It is the sinners' dust tongued bell claps me to churchesA
When with his torch and hourglass like a sulpher priestB
His beast heel cleft in a sandalC
Time marks a black aisle kindle from the brand of ashesA
Grief with dishevelled hands tear out the altar ghostD
And a firewind kill the candleC
-
Over the choir minute I hear the hour chantE
Time's coral saint and the salt grief drown a foul sepulchreF
And a whirlpool drives the prayerwheelC
Moonfall and sailing emperor pale as their tide printG
Hear by death's accident the clocked and dashed down spireF
Strike the sea hour through bellmetalC
-
There is loud and dark directly under the dumb flameH
Storm snow and fountain in the weather of fireworksI
Cathedral calm in the pulled houseJ
Grief with drenched book and candle christens the cherub timeK
From the emerald still bell and from the pacing weather cockL
The voice of bird on coral praysM
-
Forever it is a white child in the dark skinned summerF
Out of the font of bone and plants at that stone tocsinN
Scales the blue wall of spiritsO
From blank and leaking winter sails the child in colourF
Shakes in crabbed burial shawl by sorcerer's insect wokenN
Ding dong from the mute turretsP
-
I mean by time the cast and curfew rascal of our marriageQ
At nightbreak born in the fat side from an animal bedR
In a holy room in a waveS
And all love's sinners in sweet cloth kneel to a hyleg imageT
Nutmeg civet and sea parsley serve the plagued groom and brideU
Who have brought forth the urchin griefV
