I dreamed my genesis in sweat of sleep breakingA
Through the rotating shell strongB
As motor muscle on the drill drivingA
Through vision and the girdered nerveC
-
From limbs that had the measure of the worm shuffledD
Off from the creasing flesh filedE
Through all the irons in the grass metalF
Of suns in the man melting nightG
-
Heir to the scalding veins that hold love's drop costlyH
A creature in my bones II
Rounded my globe of heritage journeyH
In bottom gear through night geared manJ
-
I dreamed my genesis and died again shrapnelF
Rammed in the marching heart holeK
In the stitched wound and clotted wind muzzledD
Death on the mouth that ate the gasL
-
Sharp in my second death I marked the hills harvestM
Of hemlock and the blades rustM
My blood upon the tempered dead forcingA
My second struggling from the grassL
-
And power was contagious in my birth secondN
Rise of the skeleton andN
Rerobing of the naked ghost ManhoodO
Spat up from the resuffered painP
-
I dreamed my genesis in sweat of death fallenQ
Twice in the feeding sea grownR
Stale of Adam's brine until visionQ
Of new man strength I seek the sunQ
