Foster The Light Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEC FGHIJH KKLKMM MMNMOC PQRSMC

Foster the light nor veil the manshaped moonA
Nor weather winds that blow not down the boneB
But strip the twelve winded marrow from his circleC
Master the night nor serve the snowman's brainD
That shapes each bushy item of the airE
Into a polestar pointed on an icicleC
-
Murmur of spring nor crush the cockerel's eggsF
Nor hammer back a season in the figsG
But graft these four fruited ridings on your countryH
Farmer in time of frost the burning leaguesI
By red eyed orchards sow the seeds of snowJ
In your young years the vegetable centuryH
-
And father all nor fail the fly lord's acreK
Nor sprout on owl seed like a goblin suckerK
But rail with your wizard's ribs the heart shaped planetL
Of mortal voices to the ninnies' choirK
High lord esquire speak up the singing cloudM
And pluck a mandrake music from the marrowrootM
-
Roll unmanly over this turning tuftM
O ring of seas nor sorrow as I shiftM
From all my mortal lovers with a starboard smileN
Nor when my love lies in the cross boned driftM
Naked among the bow and arrow birdsO
Shall you turn cockwise on a tufted axleC
-
Who gave these seas their colour in a shapeP
Shaped my clayfellow and the heaven's arkQ
In time at flood filled with his coloured doublesR
O who is glory in the shapeless mapsS
Now make the world of me as I have madeM
A merry manshape of your walking circleC
