Newlywed's Departure Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHBGIJKLHGMNOP QPRPRSTUGVWX

Chinese vines climb up low hemp plantsA
the tendrils cannot stretch very farB
To marry a daughter to a drafted manC
is worse than abandoning her by roadsideD
I just did my hair up as a married womanE
haven't even had time to warm the bed for youF
Marry in the evening and depart in the morningG
isn't that too hurriedH
You are not going very farB
just to guard the borders at HeyangG
but my status in the family is not yet officialI
How can I greet my parents in lawsJ
When my parents brought me upK
they kept me in my room day and nightL
When a daughter is marriedH
she has to stay even if she's wed to a chicken or dogG
Now you are going to the place of deathM
A heavy pain cramps my stomachN
I was determined to follow you wherever you wentO
then realized that was not properP
Please don't be hampered by our new marriageQ
try to be a good soldierP
When women get mixed up in an armyR
I fear the soldiers' morale will falterP
I sigh since I'm from a poor familyR
and it took so long to sew this silk dressS
I will never put this dress on againT
and I'm going to wash off my make up while you watchU
Look at those birds flying up in the skyG
Big or small they stay in pairsV
but human life is full of mistakes and setbacksW
I will forever wait for your returnX
