Mount Kearsarge Shines Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD BEFC BGBH IJKL MNOP JQBR

Mount Kearsarge shines with ice from hemlock branchesA
snow slides onto snow no stream creek or riverB
budges but remains still TonightC
we carry armloads of logsD
-
from woodshed to Glenwood and build up the fireB
that keeps the coldest night outside our windowsE
Sit by the woodstove CamillaF
while I bring glasses of whiteC
-
and we'll talk passing the time about weatherB
without pretending that we can alter itG
Storms stop when they stop no soonerB
leaving the birches glossyH
-
with ice and bent glittering to rimy groundI
We'll avoid the programmed weatherman grinningJ
from the box cheerful with tempestK
and take the day as it comesL
-
one day at a time the way everyone saysM
These hours are the best because we hold them closeN
in our uxorious nationO
Soon we'll walk when days turn fairP
-
and frost stays off over old roads listeningJ
for peepers as spring comes on never to missQ
the day's offering of pleasureB
for the government of twoR

[email protected]: Mr. Hall is 'new' to me. I stumbled upon him at a familiar website. I relate to nature and weathermen in this poem However the repeated symbol in a few lines leave me with a headscratch. I'll give him a few more chances to move me.
