The Singer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCCDEEEFGHHDAB IB JJJFKKKDLLLDIB

A little while with love and youthA
He wandered singingB
He felt life's pulses hot and strongC
Beat all his rapid veins alongC
He wrought life's rhythms into songC
He laughed he sang the DawnD
So close so close to life he dweltE
That at rare times and rapt he feltE
The fleshly barriers yield and meltE
He trembled looking onF
Creation at her miraclesG
His soul sight pierced the earthly shellsH
And saw the spirit weave its spellsH
The veil of clay withdrawnD
A little while with love and youthA
He wandered singingB
-
A little while with age and deathI
He wanders dreamingB
-
No more the thunder and the urgeJ
Of earth's full tides that storm the vergeJ
Of heaven with their sweep and surgeJ
Shall lift shall bear him onF
Where is the golden hope that ledK
Him comrade with the mighty deadK
The love that aureoled his headK
The glory is withdrawnD
How shall one soar with broken wingsL
The leagued might of futile thingsL
Wars with the heart that dares and singsL
It is not always DawnD
A little while with age and deathI
He wanders dreamingB
