Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH IJIJ KLML KNON PJQJ

Oh why do they hunt so hard so hard who haveA
no need of foodB
Do they hunt for sport do they hunt for hate doC
they hunt for the lust of bloodD
-
-
-
If I were a god I would get me a spear I wouldE
get me horse and dogF
And merrily merrily I would ride through covertG
and brake and bogH
-
With hound and horn and laughter loud over theI
hills and awayJ
For there is no sport like that of a god with aI
man that stands at bayJ
-
Ho but the morning is fresh and fair and ohK
but the sun is brightL
And yonder the quarry breaks from the brush andM
heads for the hills in flightL
-
A minute's law for the harried thing then followK
him follow him fastN
With the bellow of dogs and the beat of hoofsO
and the mellow bugle's blastN
-
-
-
Hillo Halloo they have marked a man there isP
sport in the world to dayJ
And a clamor swells from the heart of the wood thatQ
tells of a soul at bayJ
