Sojourns In The Parallel World Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHECAIJKHLMNHO PEQRSTU

We live our lives of human passionsA
cruelties dreams conceptsB
crimes and the exercise of virtueC
in and beside a world devoidD
of our preoccupations freeE
from apprehension though affectedF
certainly by our actions A worldG
parallel to our own though overlappingH
We call it Nature only reluctantlyE
admitting ourselves to be Nature tooC
Whenever we lose track of our own obsessionsA
our self concerns because we drift for a minuteI
an hour even of pure almost pureJ
response to that insouciant lifeK
cloud bird fox the flow of light the dancingH
pilgrimage of water vast stillnessL
of spellbound ephemerae on a lit windowpaneM
animal voices mineral hum windN
conversing with rain ocean with rock stutteringH
of fire to coal then something tetheredO
in us hobbled like a donkey on its patchP
of gnawed grass and thistles breaks freeE
No one discoversQ
just where we've been when we're caught up againR
into our own sphere where we mustS
return indeed to evolve our destiniesT
but we have changed a littleU
