February Evening In New York Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIHJHKLMNHHOP HQH

As the stores close a winter lightA
opens air to iris blueB
glint of frost through the smokeC
grains of mica salt of the sidewalkD
As the buildings close released autonomousE
feet pattern the streetsF
in hurry and stroll balloon headsG
drift and dive above them the bodiesH
aren't really thereI
As the lights brighten as the sky darkensH
a woman with crooked heels says to another womanJ
while they step along at a fair paceH
'You know I'm telling you what I love bestK
is life I love life Even if I ever getL
to be old and wheezy or limp You knowM
Limping along I'd still ' Out of hearingN
To the multiple disordered tonesH
of gears changing a danceH
to the compass points out four way riverO
Prospect of skyP
wedged into avenues left at the ends of streetsH
west sky east sky more life tonight A rangeQ
of open time at winter's outskirtsH
