Ego Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDAEFGHIJKLMNCAEOP FQFRSTUT

I just didn't get itA
even with the teacher holding an orange the earth in one handB
and a lemon the moon in the otherC
her favorite student the sun standing behind her with a flashlightD
I just couldn't grasp itA
this whole citrus universe these bumpy planets revolving so slowlyE
no one could even see themselves movingF
I used to think if I could only concentrate hard enoughG
I could be the one person to feel what no one else couldH
sense a small tug from the ground a sky shift the earth changing gearsI
Even though I was only one mini speck on a speckJ
even though I was merely a pinprick in one goosebump on the orangeK
I was sure then I was the most specially perceptive perceptively sensitiveL
I was sure then my mother was the only mother to snapM
The world doesn't revolve around youN
The earth was fragile and mostly waterC
just the way the orange was mostly water if you peeled itA
just the way I was mostly water if you peeled meE
Looking back on that third grade science demonstrationO
I can understand why some people gave up on fame or religion or curesP
especially people who have an understandingF
of the excruciating crawl of the worldQ
who have a well developed sense of spatial reasoningF
and the tininess that it is to be one of usR
But not me even now I wouldn't mind being god the forceS
who spins the planets the way I spin a globe a basketball a yoyoT
I wouldn't mind being that teacher who chooses the fruitU
or that favorite kid who gives the moon its glowT
