Study Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDD EFEFBB GHGIGIJKJKDDDD

Somewhere the long mellow note of the blackbirdA
Quickens the unclasping hands of hazelB
Somewhere the wind flowers fling their heads backC
Stirred by an impetuous wind Some ways llB
All be sweet with white and blue violetD
Hush now hush Where am I BiuretD
-
On the green wood s edge a shy girl hoversE
From out of the hazel screen on to the grassF
Where wheeling and screaming the petulant ploversE
Wave frighted Who comes A labourer alasF
Oh the sunset swims in her eyes swift poolB
Work work you foolB
-
Somewhere the lamp hanging low from the ceilingG
Lights the soft hair of a girl as she readsH
And the red firelight steadily wheelingG
Weaves the hard hands of my friend in sleepI
And the white dog snuffs the warmth appealingG
For the man to heed lest the girl shall weepI
Tears and dreams for them for meJ
Bitter science the exams are nearK
I wish I bore it more patientlyJ
I wish you did not wait my dearK
For me to come since work I mustD
Though it s all the same when we are deadD
I wish I was only a bustD
All headD
