A Youth Mowing Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABA CDCD EFGG HHHH

There are four men mowing down by the IsarA
I can hear the swish of the scythe strokes fourA
Sharp breaths taken yea and IB
Am sorry for what's in storeA
-
The first man out of the four that's mowingC
Is mine I claim him once and for allD
Though it's sorry I am on his young feet knowingC
None of the trouble he's led to stallD
-
As he sees me bringing the dinner he liftsE
His head as proud as a deer that looksF
Shoulder deep out of the corn and wipesG
His scythe blade bright unhooksG
-
The scythe stone and over the stubble to meH
Lad thou hast gotten a child in meH
Laddie a man thou'lt ha'e to beH
Yea though I'm sorry for theeH
