A Baby Asleep After Pain Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEFGAHIAJAK

As a drenched drowned beeA
Hangs numb and heavy from a bending flowerB
So clings to meA
My baby her brown hair brushed with wet tearsC
And laid against her cheekD
Her soft white legs hanging heavily over my armE
Swinging heavily to my movements as I walkF
My sleeping baby hangs upon my lifeG
Like a burden she hangs on meA
She has always seemed so lightH
But now she is wet with tears and numb with painI
Even her floating hair sinks heavilyA
Reaching downwardsJ
As the wings of a drenched drowned beeA
Are a heaviness and a wearinessK
