The Year Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF

The crocus while the days are darkA
Unfolds its saffron sheenB
At April's touch the crudest barkA
Discovers gems of greenB
-
Then sleep the seasons full of mightC
While slowly swells the podD
And rounds the peach and in the nightC
The mushroom bursts the sodD
-
The winter falls the frozen rutE
Is bound with silver barsF
The snowdrift heaps against the hutE
And night is pierced with starsF
