Regina CÅ?le Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFFEGHGH

Say did his sisters wonder what could Joseph seeA
In a mild silent little Maid like theeA
And was it awful in that narrow houseB
With God for Babe and SpouseB
Nay like thy simple female sort each oneC
Apt to find Him in Husband and in SonC
Nothing to thee came strange in thisD
Thy wonder was but wondrous blissD
Wondrous for thoughE
True Virgin lives not but does knowE
Howbeit none ever yet confess'dF
That God lies really in her breastF
Of thine He made His special nestF
And soE
All mothers worship little feetG
And kiss the very ground they've trodH
But ah thy little Baby sweetG
Who was indeed thy GodH
