Love's Reality Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGHGHI walk I trust with open eyes | A |
I've travelled half my worldly course | B |
And in the way behind me lies | A |
Much vanity and some remorse | B |
I've lived to feel how pride may part | C |
Spirits tho' matched like hand and glove | D |
I've blushed for love's abode the heart | C |
But have not disbelieved in love | D |
Nor unto love sole mortal thing | E |
Or worth immortal done the wrong | F |
To count it with the rest that sing | E |
Unworthy of a serious song | F |
And love is my reward for now | G |
When most of dead'ning time complain | H |
The myrtle blooms upon my brow | G |
Its odour quickens all my brain | H |
