The Tired Worker Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDEFGFGHH

O whisper O my soul The afternoonA
Is waning into evening whisper softB
Peace O my rebel heart for soon the moonA
From out its misty veil will swing aloftC
Be patient weary body soon the nightD
Will wrap thee gently in her sable sheetE
And with a leaden sigh thou wilt inviteD
To rest thy tired hands and aching feetE
The wretched day was theirs the night is mineF
Come tender sleep and fold me to thy breastG
But what steals out the gray clouds like red wineF
O dawn O dreaded dawn O let me restG
Weary my veins my brain my life Have pityH
No Once again the harsh the ugly cityH
