The Castaways Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGG

The vivid grass with visible delightA
Springing triumphant from the pregnant earthB
The butterflies and sparrows in brief flightA
Chirping and dancing for the season's birthB
The dandelions and rare daffodilsC
That touch the deep stirred heart with hands of goldD
The thrushes sending forth their joyous trillsC
Not these not these did I at first beholdD
But seated on the benches daubed with greenE
The castaways of life a few asleepF
Some withered women desolate and meanE
And over all life's shadows dark and deepF
Moaning I turned away for miseryG
I have the strength to bear but not to seeG
