In Bondage Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFGFHH

I would be wandering in distant fieldsA
Where man and bird and beast lives leisurelyB
And the old earth is kind and ever yieldsA
Her goodly gifts to all her children freeB
Where life is fairer lighter less demandingC
And boys and girls have time and space for playD
Before they come to years of understandingC
Somewhere I would be singing far awayD
For life is greater than the thousand warsE
Men wage for it in their insatiate lustF
And will remain like the eternal starsG
When all that shines to day is drift and dustF
But I am bound with you in your mean gravesH
O black men simple slaves of ruthless slavesH
