Home Thoughts Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDEFFGGHHIIJK| Oh something just now must be happening there | A |
| That suddenly and quiveringly here | B |
| Amid the city's noises I must think | C |
| Of mangoes leaning o'er the river's brink | C |
| And dexterous Davie climbing high above | D |
| The gold fruits ebon speckled to remove | E |
| And toss them quickly in the tangled mass | F |
| Of wis wis twisted round the guinea grass | F |
| And Cyril coming through the bramble track | G |
| A prize bunch of bananas on his back | G |
| And Georgie none could ever dive like him | H |
| Throwing his scanty clothes off for a swim | H |
| And schoolboys from Bridge tunnel going home | I |
| Watching the waters downward dash and foam | I |
| This is no daytime dream there's something in it | J |
| Oh something's happening there this very minute | K |
