December, 1919 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB ADED AFGH

Last night I heard your voice motherA
The words you sang to meB
When I a little barefoot boyC
Knelt down against your kneeB
-
And tears gushed from my heart motherA
And passed beyond its wallD
But though the fountain reached my throatE
The drops refused to fallD
-
'Tis ten years since you died motherA
Just ten dark years of painF
And oh I only wish that IG
Could weep just once againH
