Forevermore the Earth reclaims her own;
Desire and vision, that have ventured far
In prospect of the empyrean star,
Fail, meteor-like, upon the heavens lone;
Eyes that awhile were fain of ampler gloom,
Or the blue suns of paradisean light
With amaranthine worlds beyond the night,
Turn to the staring blindness of the tomb.
