In Progress Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBCCDECFGHHGFTen years ago it seemed impossible | A |
That she should ever grow so calm as this | B |
With self remembrance in her warmest kiss | B |
And dim dried eyes like an exhausted well | C |
Slow speaking when she has some fact to tell | C |
Silent with long unbroken silences | D |
Centred in self yet not unpleased to please | E |
Gravely monotonous like a passing bell | C |
Mindful of drudging daily common things | F |
Patient at pastime patient at her work | G |
Wearied perhaps but strenuous certainly | H |
Sometimes I fancy we may one day see | H |
Her head shoot forth seven stars from where they lurk | G |
And her eyes lightnings and her shoulders wings | F |
