Sonnet Xxxvi. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDDDAEAFGG

SHOULD the lone wanderer fainting on his wayA
Rest for a moment of the sultry hoursB
And though his path through thorns and roughness layA
Pluck the wild rose or woodbine's gadding flowersB
Weaving gay wreaths beneath some sheltering treeC
The sense of sorrow he awhile may loseD
So have I sought thy flowers fair PoesyD
So charm'd my way with Friendship and the MuseD
But darker now grows life's unhappy dayA
Dark with new clouds of evil yet to comeE
Her pencil sickening Fancy throws awayA
And weary Hope reclines upon the tombF
And points my wishes to that tranquil shoreG
Where the pale spectre Care pursues no moreG
