Sonnet Xxxv. To Fortitude Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEFEGHGHII

NYMPH of the rock whose dauntless spirit bravesA
The beating storm and bitter winds that howlB
Round thy cold breast and hear'st the bursting wavesA
And the deep thunder with unshaken soulC
Oh come and show how vain the cares that pressD
On my weak bosom and how little worthE
Is the false fleeting meteor HappinessF
That still misleads the wanderers of the earthE
Strengthen'd by thee this heart shall cease to meltG
O'er ills that poor humanity must bearH
Nor friends estranged or ties dissolved be feltG
To leave regret and fruitless anguish thereH
And when at length it heaves its latest sighI
Thou and mild Hope shall teach me how to dieI
