Sonnet Xxvi. To The River Arun Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGG

ON thy wild banks by frequent torrents wornA
No glittering fanes or marble domes appearB
Yet shall the mournful muse thy course adornA
And still to her thy rustic waves be dearB
For with the infant Otway lingering hereC
Of early woes she bade her votary dreamD
While thy low murmurs sooth'd his pensive earC
And still the poet consecrates the streamD
Beneath the oak and birch that fringe thy sideE
The first born violets of the year shall springF
And in thy hazles bending o'er the tideE
The earliest nightingale delight to singF
While kindred spirits pitying shall relateG
Thy Otway's sorrows and lament his fateG
