Sonnet Xviii. To The Earl Of Egremont Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEDFGFGBB

WYNDHAM 'tis not thy blood though pure it runsA
Through a long line of glorious ancestryB
Percys and Seymours Britain's boasted sonsA
Who trust the honours of their race to theeB
'Tis not thy splendid domes where science lovesC
To touch the canvass and the bust to raiseD
Thy rich domains fair fields and spreading grovesE
'Tis not all these the Muse delights to praiseD
In birth and wealth and honours great thou artF
But nobler in thy independent mindG
And in that liberal hand and feeling heartF
Given thee by Heaven a blessing to mankindG
Unworthy oft may titled fortune beB
A soul like thine is true NobilityB
