Sonnet Lxxxiii. The Sea View Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACCDEDEDEEFF

THE upland shepherd as reclined he liesA
On the soft turf that clothes the mountain browB
Marks the bright sea line mingling with the skiesA
Or from his course celestial sinking slowC
The summer sun in purple radiance lowC
Blaze on the western waters the wide sceneD
Magnificent and tranquil seems to spreadE
Even o'er the rustic's breast a joy sereneD
When like dark plague spots by the demons shedE
Charged deep with death upon the waves far seenD
Move the war freighted ships and fierce and redE
Flash their destructive fires The mangled deadE
And dying victims then pollute the floodF
Ah thus man spoils Heaven's glorious works with bloodF
