Sonnet Lxvi: The Night-flood Rakes Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEDEDDE

The night flood rakes upon the stony shoreA
Along the rugged cliffs and chalky cavesB
Mourns the hoarse Ocean seeming to deploreA
All that are buried in his restless wavesB
Mined by corrosive tides the hollow rockC
Falls prone and rushing from its turfy heightD
Shakes the broad beach with long resounding shockC
Loud thundering on the ear of sullen NightD
Above the desolate and stormy deepE
Gleams the wan Moon by floating mist opprestD
Yet here while youth and health and labour sleepE
Alone I wander Calm untroubled restD
Nature's soft nurse deserts the sigh swoln breastD
And shuns the eyes that only wake to weepE
