Sonnet Lxv. To Dr. Parry Of Bath Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AB CDDCEFFEAGAGHH

With some botanic drawings which had been madeA
some yearsB
-
IN happier hours ere yet so keenly blewC
Adversity's cold blight and bitter stormsD
Luxuriant Summer's evanescent formsD
And Spring's soft blooms with pencil light I drewC
But as the lovely family of flowersE
Shrink from the bleakness of the Northern blastF
So fail from present care and sorrow pastF
The slight botanic pencil's mimic powersE
Nor will kind Fancy even by Memory's aidA
Her visionary garlands now entwineG
Yet while the wreaths of Hope and Pleasure fadeA
Still is one flower of deathless blossom mineG
That dares the Lapse of Time and Tempest rudeH
The unfading Amaranth of GratitudeH
