Sonnet Lxix Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDDCEFEFAGGABB

Written at the same place on seeing a Seaman returnA
who had been imprisoned at RochfortB
CLOUDS gold and purple o'er the western rayC
Threw a bright veil and catching lights betweenD
Fell on the glancing sail that we had seenD
With soft but adverse winds throughout the dayC
Contending vainly as the vessel nearsE
Increasing numbers hail it from the shoreF
Lo on the deck a pallid form appearsE
Half wondering to behold himself once moreF
Approach his home And now he can discernA
His cottage thatch amid surrounding treesG
Yet trembling dreads lest sorrow or diseaseG
Await him there embittering his returnA
But all he loves are safe with heart elateB
Though poor and plunder'd he absolves his fateB
