Sonnet Lii. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFEF

FAULTERING and sad the unhappy pilgrim rovesA
Who on the eve of bleak December's nightB
Divided far from all he fondly lovesA
Journeys alone along the giddy heightB
Of these steep cliffs and as the sun's last rayC
Fades in the West sees from the rocky vergeD
Dark tempests scowling o'er the shortened dayC
And hears with ear appall'd the impetuous surgeD
Beneath him thunder So with heart oppress'dE
Alone reluctant desolate and slowF
By Friendship's cheering radiance now unblestE
Along life's rudest path I seem to goF
Nor see where yet the anxious heart may restE
That trembling at the past recoils from future woeF
