Stanzas Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDED FGHGIJIJ KJKDLMNM OPOQRBRB STSTUBUB LVLVWDWD

IF thou be in a lonely placeA
If one hour's calm be thineB
As Evening bends her placid faceA
O'er this sweet day's declineB
If all the earth and all the heavenC
Now look serene to theeD
As o'er them shuts the summer evenE
One moment think of meD
-
Pause in the lane returning homeF
'Tis dusk it will be stillG
Pause near the elm a sacred gloomH
Its breezeless boughs will fillG
Look at that soft and golden lightI
High in the unclouded skyJ
Watch the last bird's belated flightI
As it flits silent byJ
-
Hark for a sound upon the windK
A step a voice a sighJ
If all be still then yield thy mindK
Unchecked to memoryD
If thy love were like mine how blestL
That twilight hour would seemM
When back from the regretted PastN
Returned our early dreamM
-
If thy love were like mine how wildO
Thy longings even to painP
For sunset soft and moonlight mildO
To bring that hour againQ
But oft when in thine arms I layR
I've seen thy dark eyes shineB
And deeply felt their changeful rayR
Spoke other love than mineB
-
My love is almost anguish nowS
It beats so strong and trueT
'Twere rapture could I deem that thouS
Such anguish ever knewT
I have been but thy transient flowerU
Thou wert my god divineB
Till checked by death's congealing powerU
This heart must throb for thineB
-
And well my dying hour were blestL
If life's expiring breathV
Should pass as thy lips gently prestL
My forehead cold in deathV
And sound my sleep would be and sweetW
Beneath the churchyard treeD
If sometimes in thy heart should beatW
One pulse still true to meD
