Regret Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEF GHGHIJIJ KLKLMNMO PQPQRORO

Long ago I wished to leaveA
The house where I was bornB
Long ago I used to grieveA
My home seemed so forlornB
In other years its silent roomsC
Were filled with haunting fearsD
Now their very memory comesE
O'ercharged with tender tearsF
-
Life and marriage I have knownG
Things once deemed so brightH
Now how utterly is flownG
Every ray of lightH
'Mid the unknown sea of lifeI
I no blest isle have foundJ
At last through all its wild wave's strifeI
My bark is homeward boundJ
-
Farewell dark and rolling deepK
Farewell foreign shoreL
Open in unclouded sweepK
Thou glorious realm beforeL
Yet though I had safely pass'dM
That weary vexed mainN
One loved voice through surge and blastM
Could call me back againO
-
Though the soul's bright morning roseP
O'er Paradise for meQ
William even from Heaven's reposeP
I'd turn invoked by theeQ
Storm nor surge should e'er arrestR
My soul exulting thenO
All my heaven was once thy breastR
Would it were mine againO
