Letty's Globe Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCEFGGHFI

When Letty had scarce pass'd her third glad yearA
And her young artless words began to flowB
One day we gave the child a colour'd sphereA
Of the wide earth that she might mark and knowB
By tint and outline all its sea and landC
She patted all the world old empires peep'dD
Between her baby fingers her soft handC
Was welcome at all frontiers How she leap'dE
And laugh'd and prattled in her world wide blissF
But when we turn'd her sweet unlearn egrave d eyeG
On our own isle she raised a joyous cryG
'Oh yes I see it Letty's home is there 'H
And while she hid all England with a kissF
Bright over Europe fell her golden hairI
