Within Thine Eyes Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDDEFFE GHGHIIIIII IJIJKKLMNL

Within thine eyes two spirits dwellA
The sweetest and the purestB
That ever wove Love's mystic spellA
Or plied his arts the surestC
No smile of mornD
Though heaven bornD
Nor sunshine earthward strayingE
E'er charmed the sightF
With half the lightF
That round thy lips is playingE
-
The stars may shine the moon may smileG
The earth in beauty languishH
Life's sorrows these can but beguileG
But thou canst heal its anguishH
Thy voice like rillsI
Of silver trillsI
Such sounds of liquid sweetnessI
Each accent rollsI
Along our soulsI
In lyrical completenessI
-
If Friendship lend thee such a graceI
That men nor gods may slight itJ
How blest the one who views thy faceI
When Love comes down to light itJ
And oh if heK
Who holds in feeK
Thy beauty truth and reasonL
A traitor proveM
To thee and LoveN
We'll spurn him for his treasonL
