| Poor suffering souls whose lives are like the trees | B |
| Bent crushed and broken in the storm of life | C |
| A whirlwind of existence seems to roam | A |
| Through some poor hearts continually These | B |
| Have neither rest nor pause one day is rife | C |
| With tempest and another dashed with gloom | D |
| And the few rays of light that might illume | D |
| Their thorny path are drenched with tearful rain | E |
| Yet these pure souls live not their lives in vain | E |
| For they become as spiritual guides | F |
| And lights to others rising with the tides | F |
| Of their full being into higher spheres | G |
| Brighter and brighter still through all the coming years | G |
