Sonnet: - Xii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AABCBCDDEFFEGH| The moon shone down on fair Eliza's face | A |
| And made it beautiful No fitter place | A |
| Could she have chosen for her gracious smile | B |
| For as she sat there in the languid light | C |
| Methought I'd found a soul as free from guile | B |
| As ever came from God Oh favored Night | C |
| Oh mild impassioned moon and starry spheres | D |
| To gaze upon her through the silent years | D |
| Without rebuke But I have looked within | E |
| And found the truest beauty have laid bare | F |
| A spiritual excellence as rare | F |
| As ever mortal being hoped to win | E |
| Heart mind and soul I analysed them all | G |
| And saw where heaven kept divinest carnival | H |
