Sonnet: - V Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBBCBDCDBBEEB| Blest Spirit of Calm that dwellest in these woods | A |
| Thou art a part of that serene repose | B |
| That ofttimes lingers in the solitudes | B |
| Of my lone heart when the tumultuous throes | B |
| Of some vast Grief have borne me to the earth | C |
| For I have fought with Sorrow face to face | B |
| Have tasted of the cup that brings to some | D |
| A frantic madness and delirious mirth | C |
| But prayed and trusted for the light to come | D |
| To break the gloom and darkness of the place | B |
| Through the dim aisles the sunlight penetrates | B |
| And nature's self rejoices heaven's light | E |
| Comes down into my heart and in its might | E |
| My soul stands up and knocks at God's own temple gates | B |
