Sonnet: - Iii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEDBDFBBFOh holy sabbath morn thrice blessed day | A |
Of solemn rest true peace and earnest prayer | B |
How many hearts that never knelt to pray | A |
Are glad to breathe thy soul sustaining air | B |
I sit within the quiet woods and hear | C |
The village church bell's soft inviting sound | D |
And to the confines of the loftiest sphere | E |
Imagination wings its airy round | D |
A myriad spirits have assembled there | B |
Whose prayers on earth a sweet acceptance found | D |
I go to worship in Thy House O God | F |
With her thy young creation bright and fair | B |
Help us to do Thy will and not despair | B |
Though both our hearts should bend beneath Thy chastening rod | F |
